hearit

On Episode 65 we visit Fusion 2006: The 4th Los Angeles LGBT People of Color Film Festival. I speak with Gia and Arnold who are both members of the LA Ball community featured in the film that won best documentary at FusionI’m Still Here: Becoming Legendary”. We also get a unique perspective on LGBT film festivals from Topher and Rodger who came all the way from London to attend Fusion. Viva Ruiz makes a return to LA and to PinkMaifaRadio with news on her beautiful and compelling “Rosa Negra” series.

Aside from all the great films and informative panels that take place at Fusion there is also a lot of outreach most of wich was done by the staff and voluinteers of Reach-LA and Bienestar.I have one of the members of Bienestar on the show to talk about the importance of getting involved with community outreach at events like Fusion. Please send feedback questions or comments to Steven at PinkMafiaRadio@yahoo.com or call me 206 202-0296.

For more coverage of Fusion check out the videos and interviews at JengoTV.com a channel for LGBT of color media.

---CORRECTION NOTICE---
Durring the show I talk about two documentaries covering the Ball scene, “How Do I Look” & “I’m Still Here: Becoming Legendary”.

"How Do I Look" is a documentary about the NYC Ball scene and is available on DVD now at HowDoILookNYC.org
I’m Still Here: Becoming Legendary” is about the LA Ball scene and is now playing in film festivals around the world.
