PinkMafiaRadioEp45 AIDS 25 years later
PinkMafiaRadioEp45
June 5, 2006 marks the 25th anniversary of the first reported case of AIDS in the United States. We speak with the founder of The Black Aids Institute Phil Wilson. Harvey Firestien chimes in with some very powerful thoughts on how we view AIDS as a community courtesy of InTheLifeTV.org and LOGOonline.com. We also go to an event hosted by LA Shanti featuring Dr. Gottlieb who published the first report on AIDS in the US , Congressman Henry Waxman, Marsha Malamet who co wrote and performs Love Don’t Need a Reason, Archbishop Carl Bean, Mayor of West Hollywood John Heilman, and the words of Paul Monette are brought to life by Judith Light. Stay tuned after the show for music by Jesse O who will be at San Diego Pride July 29th. Please send feedback questions or comments to Steven at PinkMafiaRadio@Yahoo.com or call me 206 202-0296.
